Read full description of the books:

John F. Buckley is the author of five books of poetry: two chapbooks, Breach Birth (2011) and Leading an Aquamarine Shoat by Its Tail (2012), from Alternating Current Press; a solo collection, Sky Sandwiches (2012), from Anaphora Literary Press; and two collaborations with Martin Ott, Poets’ Guide to America (2012) and Yankee Broadcast Network (2014), from Brooklyn Arts Press. His work has been nominated multiple times for a Pushcart Prize. His poems have appeared in The Carolina Quarterly, Cimarron Review, The Evergreen Review, The Pinch, Southern Humanities Review, ZYZZYVA, and elsewhere. He holds graduate degrees in poetry and literature from, respectively, the Helen Zell Writers’ Program at the University of Michigan and San Francisco State University.

Since Buckley restarted writing in the spring of 2009, after a creative dry spell of almost two decades, his poems have been accepted for publication in over 180 periodicals and anthologies. In addition to writing individual works, he is engaged in an ongoing game of poetic volleyball with established Los Angeles writer Martin Ott (Interrogator's Notebook, Captive).

Buckley's inaugural chapbook, Breach Birth, was published by Propaganda Press in March 2011. Propaganda Press also produced his second chapbook, Leading an Aquamarine Shoat by Its Tail. His first volume of collaborations with Martin Ott, Poets' Guide to America, came out on Brooklyn Arts Press in November 2012. His full-length solo collection, Sky Sandwiches, was published on Anaphora Literary Press, also in 2012.

In Fall 2012, Buckley moved back to Ann Arbor, Michigan, to attend the University of Michigan as an MFA candidate in poetry. His second collaboration with Ott, Yankee Broadcast Network, will arrive in October 2014.
