Read information about the authorI abhor violence and cruelty, and hope for a future when people no longer find conflict entertaining.
Since most of my readers have asked this question, I answer it by way of GoodReads reviews: What or who influenced my writing?
As you can see from my bookshelves, this is what I remember reading, how much it influenced me as a human being, and why I have a passion for protecting childhood and introducing kids to my rabbit hole, which is String Theory.
Besides the Saardu series, I write to share experiences that many people have had and find difficulty putting into words their feelings and thoughts about it. For example, "10 Most Annoying Things People Say to NICU Parents (...when they're only trying to help!)" Good read for everyone who works in a hospital or with trauma patients and their families.
My greatest literary influences are Professor Richard Walter, who teaches Advanced Screenwriting for MFA students at the UCLA film school. He taught me everything I needed to know about the ancient art of storytelling. The American poet, E.E. Cummings (don't lecture me about upper/lowercase--he preferred E.E., do some research and you'll find that out), is dear to me and I carry him as my spiritual grandfather in my heart. Poetry was my first love, especially freestyle. Kurt Vonnegut, when asked why he wrote fiction novels, answered that he did so to reach the minds of young people before they become Senators and Generals, to "infect them with humanity." That is my passion.
