The March issue of eFiction India has been released, and it’s time for us to thank you all for your creative efforts and persistent support, which keep us going each month.
Like every issue of the magazine, the current issue is an exciting assortment of moving ideas coupled with unmatched expression. Our stories, this month, present a range of memories – of histories (both personal and collective), of things that have perhaps happened to all of us at some point in our lives, of incidents we wish we never have to encounter, of personal tragedies, and universal comedies. Yet again, you have taken us to recesses of your mind conquered by imagination, stirring our imaginations, in turn, to explore unusual possibilities.
Our poetry section is equally diverse, containing well-crafted verses about different moods of love, self-discovery, and untold narratives hidden in the depths of history. They exhibit a skilful variety of form, content, style and create interesting patterns of expression to stimulate the poet in everyone who reads them.
Our rendezvous with Smita Shetty is truly enlightening for aspiring writers as she shares with us her creative journey, along with tips to handle ‘negative criticism’ and ‘writer’s block’. The conversation with Sudha Menon is equally inspiring, particularly to women, as she talks candidly about the ‘multiple roles’ women take on every single day of their lives, and the challenges they have to overcome at times to establish themselves in the social stratum. She also deliberates at length upon what or who has inspired her in her journey towards becoming a successful author.
The book review of Leading Ladies: Women who Inspire India is just as motivational. It discusses author Sudha Menon’s engaging account of exceptional women who have fought all odds to achieve something in life.
This month’s issue also marks the beginning of eFiction India Workshop. You can read our first workshopped story, Narayan Roy’s “The Conviction”, in this issue.
Together with the enchanting images also contributed by you, our March issue promises to be a kaleidoscope of everything that eFiction India stands for.
